Friends. A tribute that shows so much love

Kevin Sinfield and Rob Burrow are former teammates in the Leeds Rhinos rugby league team. In December 2019, it was announced that Rob Burrow had been diagnosed with motor neuron disease, a debilitating and incurable illness that affects the nerves that control movement.

In response to the news, Kevin Sinfield decided to run seven marathons in seven days to raise money and awareness for Burrow and his family, who would need support to deal with the effects of the disease. Sinfield's efforts were part of a larger fundraising campaign that raised over £2.6 million for the Burrow family and the Motor Neurone Disease Association. Sinfield's marathons were a tribute to Burrow's legendary status in rugby league, where he was known for his speed, agility, and toughness on the field. Burrow was a key player in the Leeds Rhinos' team that won multiple Super League championships, and he was widely regarded as one of the best players of his generation.

The fundraising campaign and Sinfield's marathons were widely praised for their generosity, compassion, and solidarity with Burrow and his family. They also helped to raise awareness about motor neuron disease and the challenges that people living with this illness face on a daily basis.
